Behind the Name/About the Blog

I have been thinking about starting a new blog for awhile. My blogging days initially began many years ago in high school when one of my English instructors required that each student create a blog. I enjoyed it and sometimes used it as an escape–a place I could publish what I was thinking anonymously. These days I’ve been thinking that not only could I/should I record my thoughts but maybe I have something to say that could help someone else.

With the name “Leave no words left unwritten” I strive to just do that. To get all of the things that run through my mind, down on “paper” so that maybe they might help someone else. I originally was going to title the blog leave no words left unspoken because that is a principle I try to live by.

A few years back my family went through a rough time together and my brother texted me “Love you sis.” I was with a family friend at the time and my friend said “I bet you never hear that very often” as she was thinking my brother and I didn’t regularly say that to each other. What she didn’t know is that we actually tell each other that everytime we talk to each other. After my brother went to college many years back, I started telling him I loved him every time I talked to him as my brother was a person that liked to participate in extreme sports and live life on the edge and I never knew when it might be the last chance I had to speak to him. No matter what we were going through, I always wanted him to know I loved him and I never wanted him to doubt that nor did I want to live with regret. Thankfully my brother is still here, but I never miss the opportunity–leave no words left unspoken.

Instead of titling my blog leave no words left unspoken, I decided to go with unwritten since it is a blog and I am typing my thoughts instead of verbalizing every single one of them. By leaving the title as unwritten, it allows me to take multiple avenues with my blog such as sharing things I want to say, writing pieces of advice, stories from my daily life, and so on. The goal of this blog is to share my experiences, help others, and hopefully learn a thing or two myself and continue to grow.
